Blueprint December 2000 ( UK) Radiotones– Whiskey’d Up Whiskey’d Up, eh? So there’s one easy comparison the Radiotones have deprived me of, along with ‘gravel’ which was used on their previous album title. Both would be apt because this is an inimitably Scottish slant on acoustic Delta blues, Dave Arcari being every inch the Scottish Shane McGowan with his gravelly voice and his very impressive National guitar skills. There is oodles of feeling here and Jim Harcus is a darn fine harmonica player as well. The limitations of the line up mean that things eventually get a bit samey, but this is a beautifully presented artefact and worthy of support. 8/10 Gary Revilo
