The Vault ( UK) Radiotones: Bound to Ride If you're the sort of person who finds the Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster and Sludgefeast that little bit too highbrow for your liking then the Radiotones are arguably the band you've been waiting for. A none-more-psychobilly group of nutters from north of the border, they make blooz-metal so viciously raw that it'd send Jack White screaming into the night in sheer terror. Blending Slash-style swamp rock guitar with feral blooz howling, "Bound To Ride" is quite simply a good-time no-nonsense 30-minute thrashalong from start to finish and, although it errs on the repetitive once in a bit, such brilliant simplicity can't help but be enjoyed. Well worth a look if you're intent on scaring the neighbours on Christmas Eve. Andy James
